The first is a 48” x 24” oil painting, traditional method. I’m up to the third layer and will add another three or four layers onto this. It’s starting to take some cohesive shape. I’ve yet to add the colors and highlights to it, but this is kind of what a foundation looks like.
The second is a small 12” x 8” acrylic piece that I started last night. I was inspired by the photography of Christina Garcia Rodera. I don’t think this one is really done yet. I’m going to try to varnish it with oils (much like the technique of the Dutch masters) and see if I can get more luminosity out of it.
